Your stolen SADA idea is now “Guinea Fowl Authority”, Bawumia jabs Mahama

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has taken a swipe at former President, John Mahama, for failing to bridge the development gap between the North and South with its Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), which he says is now “Guinea Fowl Authority”.

Speaking in a yet-to-be-aired interview with Asaase Radio’s Nana Yaa Mensah on the Sunday Night show (29 November), the Vice President explained that the NDC stole the NPP’s idea of establishing a Northern Development Authority in the party’s 2008 manifesto.

He said the NDC lacked the vision and foresight to effectively implement the idea, which it later christened SADA.

“Now this gap has been recognized over the years and Nana Akufo-Addo made it a point in the 2008 manifesto that given the chance, he was going to bridge this gap between the north and south.”

Bawumia added: “And he was going to set up the Northern Development Authority, to do this that was the vehicle and put in a billion dollars and so on.

“Of course, the National Democratic Congress picked it up and decided they were going to have a counter and they brought SADA, which is now Guinea fowl Authority and they spent a hundred million dollars and we can’t find one project they did with that money.”

Dr. Bawumia believes the NPP has done a lot to alleviate the plight of Ghanaians, adding President Akufo-Addo needs a second term to fast track the development of the nation.

He outlined various interventions rolled out by the current administration including its flagship free Senior High School programme.

The Vice President said the government’s prudent management and innovation in the agricultural sector in the past four years has led to recent food sufficiency and the subsequent export of about 18 food commodities to neighboring countries.
