The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are both in stable condition after being involved in a road traffic accident on the Bolgatanga-Tumu road in the early hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The incident occurred as the ministers and their respective convoys were travelling to the Upper West Region to take part in the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.
Following the crash, all members of the convoy were quickly attended to by emergency responders and health personnel. Officials have confirmed that everyone involved is receiving medical care and remains stable.
In a statement issued after the incident, the Office of the Education Minister extended gratitude to emergency services, medical workers and members of the public for their swift support and assistance. Further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
