UG students run for their lives as fuelling station explodes at Atomic junction

A fuel station has exploded at Atomic junction in Accra near the overpass that connects Legon to Madina.

The incident happened at about 7:30pm.

The fire was said to have started at a Total Fuel station and extended to another station.

Two huge explosions happened minutes apart.

Some students at some hostels at the University of Ghana campus, close to where the incident happened took to their heels.

Many residents in the area at Haatso, Madina, and the UPSA area have abandoned their homes running further down to safety.
