This is how to recharge your ECG prepaid meter using a ‘YAM’ phone

The Electricity Company of Ghana has introduced a new shortcode; *226# for its non-smartphone users to recharge their prepaid credit digitally.

This comes on the back of the company’s efforts to provide convenience to its consumers across the country.

Other available payment options are for consumers on Smart Prepayment Meters, Mobile Money, Prepaid Top Up, Post Paid Meters. Consumers can also get Consumption Information on their meters through the new ECG Power App which is available in both Android and IOS versions.

 

To recharge your prepaid meter with the shortcode:

  1. Dial *226# to see the following prompts;

1.Topup Prepaid

2.Pay Bill

3.Update Customer Information

(Select the needed option to proceed)

2. To proceed with any of these three options, you must enter your prepaid meter number.
