Reason and lift the ban on Ghana celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages – Afia Schwarzenegger to FDA

Television and Radio personality, Afia Schwarzenegger says it’s sad that people who are not consulted when their families take decisions are the ones making key decisions for Ghana.

Her comment comes on the back of celebrities in the country’s calls on Fod and Drugs Authority (FDA) to lift the ban placed on the advertising of alcoholic beverages.

She noted that the decision to place a ban on celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages is one of the useless decisions a country can take. This is because celebrities cannot influence people to engage in alcoholism or take in illicit drugs.

To her, the ban is rather detrimental to the economic gains of the country because these celebrities could have been paying taxes to the country if they were given the opportunity to advertise for alcoholic beverages.
