Man stoned to death for stealing cat in Tema

A 37-year-old man Abdullah Gedo has been stoned to death at Jerusalem a suburb of Tema by some unknown residents.

According to reports, luck eluded Gedo who is said to have stolen a cat on Sunday dawn.

Some individuals who saw him with the botty pounced on him and was hit with slabs of stones.

Gedo was found in a pool of blood and efforts made at resuscitating him proved futile.

Gedo stoned to death

A brother to the deceased Alhassan Issah, said they are yet to come to terms with the incident and hope the police will do a thorough investigation to unravel the mystery behind his death.

Residents of Jerusalem say the stealing of cats has become rampant in the area with several cats missing in this short period of Yuletide.

The remains of Gedo has since been deposited at the Police Hospital pending an autopsy.
