Kwabena Agyapong Demands GH¢200k Compensation From Kumasi Based NPP Lawyer For Tagging Him ‘Judas Iscariot’

Embattled General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has sued a Kumasi-based NPP lawyer, Kwame Adofo who described him as the Judas Iscariot in the ruling party.

The Kumasi-based NPP lawyer in a panel discussion on Ultimate Fm in Kumasi accused Mr Agyapong of leaking information about the party to his masters in the opposition party.

Lawyer Adofo who is against the reinstatement of the suspended NPP general secretary, said:” ‘Kwabena Agyapong is a Judas of NPP, no way should he be reinstated…after Judas regretted what he did, he threw the money away and hanged himself. Kwabena Agyapong has committed a political suicide, he’s finished as far as the NPP is concerned, he’s better of joining the NDC if he is to have any future. But as far as NPP is concerned, he is finished, how can you trust somebody who compromised you when NPP was in opposition, and now that the party is in power.”

He added that “What else can’t he do when he is going to sit in cabinet, are you going to trust that he will not leak information to former President John Dramani Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, that is a disaster, it’s serious. I am telling you now, he’s the Judas of NPP, put me on record, the moment you bring him back, your party is finished”.

However, Kwabena Agyapong responded to the lawyer through in letter, describing Kwame Adofo’s comment as defamatory and hence demanding a retraction, an apology and a compensation of GH¢200,000 before Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

The concluding part of the suit filed by lawyer Nana Freduah Agyeman Osborn on behalf of Kwabena Agyei Agyapong read “we finally demand a formal letter apologizing to our client and your very tacit assurance that never again will you ever conduct in such an unfortunate manner and to finally compensate our client with an amount of GHS 200, 000.00 by Tuesday, October 31, 2017”
