Kintampo-Tamale Road Accident: Motorbike and a jerrycan with petrol caused the fire – Bono East Regional Minister

The Minister in charge of the Bono East Region, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene has revealed what really caused the fire outbreak in the Kintampo-Tamale road crash between a Yutong bus and a Sprinter minibus that claimed the lives of over 30 passengers. More than 30 passengers were burnt beyond recognition according to the police report.

In an interview with Peace FM’s mid-day news team monitored by Ghana News Punch, the minister confirmed that the fire that burnt the two cars and the passengers were caused by a motorbike and a petrol-filled jerrycan kept in one of the cars.

The fuel tank of the motorbike had fuel(petrol) in it and there was also a jerrycan filled with petrol. These sparked the flames when the crash occurred between the two diesel-powered vehicles.
