Investigative Journalist Anas’ partner was threatened earlier before his murder – Family reveals

The family of late investigative journalist Ahmed Husein-Suale, have disclosed that the deceased received threats before his eventual murder.

Ahmed, who is a member of Anas’ Tiger Eye PI team, was found dead in his car on Wednesday night after he was shot by unknown assailants while driving.

The deceased was reportedly shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck by gunmen on a motorbike around Madina.

His family has now revealed that he was earlier threatened before his death.

He had a call that one of his children was sick and told us he was going to take his son to the hospital and bid us goodbye.

“So he drove his car and as he approached the junction we heard a gunshot and was thinking that it was knock out (crackers). Soon after, a man rushed to our house and informed us that Ahmed has been shot dead. We rushed there and saw him dead in his car,” a family source is quoted as saying by Kasapafmonline.

Actually, someone had earlier threatened him and said he’ll hire people to kill him. But we are not ready to disclose the name now, we want the police to finish with their investigations first.”

The late Ahmed was one of the key investigators behind the “Number 12” expose which uncovered rots in Ghana football.

Last year, MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong exposed the deceased’s photos to the public, saying he would pay anyone who beats him (Ahmed) up.

On Thursday, Anas posted a video of the legislator making those threats, before paying tribute to his departed colleague.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has begun investigations to capture the perpetrators of the crime.
