Idris Elba, Boris Kodjoe, Naomi Campbell and Other Stars Celebrate their Roots in a Historical Trip to Ghana

40 celebrities and high profile members of the African Diaspora are in Ghana to celebrate their cultural ancestry and roots at the Full Circle Festival in Accra.

These celebrity guests hail from the world of entertainment, sports, fashion and business will be experiencing a full week featuring musical entertainment, activities, brunches, parties, empowering roundtable discussions and fun-filled family days.

This week sees the official launch of the Full Circle Festival (FCF), starting today Thursday 27th December till Thursday 3rd January 2019.

The Full Circle Festival was chaired by The Office of His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo and presented by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Business Development and the Office of Diaspora Affairs.

2019 marks the 400 years’ anniversary of the start of the West African slave trade. Between 1619 and 1860 12 million Africans were forcefully loaded on ships and transported to the Americas. The new world brought them unimaginable pain, suffering, and death, far away from their families, their culture, their ancestors. The FCF has been established to honour our ancestry by celebrating heritage and generational legacy across Ghana and the Diaspora.

International celebrities, including Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba, Naomi Campbell, Edward Enninful, Anthony Anderson and many other have convened in Ghana where they were introduced to many facets of Ghanaian culture, through a bonanza of musical events, activities, empowering roundtable discussions, day trips showcasing Ghana and its rich culture.

So Fraiche Media and Full Circle Festival have coordinated and managed these events, as they understand the importance of identity, mobilising the Diaspora and reconnecting to Ghana to bring socio-economic and cultural improvements that will dispel the negative imagery of the Continent, address key issues and reposition the role of Africans and the Diaspora on the global scene.
