I can win over 80% of votes in Ashanti Region for NPP in the 2024 elections – Alan Kyerematen

I can win over 80% of votes in Ashanti Region for NPP in the 2024 elections – Alan Kyerematen

The hopeful NPP flagbearer, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has outlined his reasons for being the top choice for the ruling party ahead of the 2024 general elections.

He stated that, if elected as the flagbearer, he will secure at least 80% of the votes in the Ashanti region and be competitive in the NDC’s stronghold, the Volta Region.

During an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, Kyerematen emphasized that the NPP needs not just a flagbearer, but someone who can help them break the “8”. He is loved by many in the Volta region, which gives him the potential to bring surprises to the region for his party in the upcoming election.

“Everybody in Ghana knows that the people of the Volta Region have taken me to be one of them. I believe that I am the candidate who can win 80 percent of the votes in the Ashanti Region and also compete with the NDC in the Volta Region for their votes to be reduced,” the former Minister added.

Kyerematen explained that to guarantee victory in a potentially difficult election, the party needs a candidate who can win 80% of the votes in the Ashanti region, which is considered the backbone of the NPP. They also need a candidate who can reduce the strength of the opponent and consolidate their own base.

“You need a candidate who can do two things: consolidate your base and reduce the strength of your opponent. We all know that the base of the NDC is the Volta Region, but many people have been asking why Voltarians like me so much,” he added.

He believes that his popularity across the country and his relationship with Akufo-Addo makes him the ideal candidate for the job. In his words, “there is no village where Akufo-Addo is known where I’m not known.
