I appear on shows as a ‘neutral’ social commentator, not as your rep – Allotey Jacobs replies NDC

Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has said since his party the NDC has barred from representing them on political talk shows, he now speaks as a social commentator whose principle is the truth.

Allotey Jacobs came under attack after MyNewsGh.com reported that he had commended president Akufo-Addo for procuring 307 ambulances for Ghana.

“The interior of the state of the art ambulances recently commissioned and distributed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can give life back to a dying patient… [..] .. We all should face facts if you look at the inside and see the equipment and colour design it looks very attractive. If you are at the point of death, the colours in the ambulance can give you the vim to survive. The inside is great,” Allotey said.

“All those ambulances that were brought into the country from the Kufuor to Mahama regimes must be added to the current fleet. If they are the need to retool them, they should so we carve a new ambulance system. It would be prudent for the government to supply them ambulances to the Regional and Teaching Hospitals,” he added.

But following scathing attacks on his person by NDC supporters who accuse him of having been bought, Allotey Jacobs says he spoke as a social commentator.

According to Uncle Allotey who is a former Board member of the Electricity Company of Ghana under the Atta Mills administration, the politics of Ghana has to change to reflect truth as a cardinal principle.

“I HAVE BEEN WARNED NOT TO SPEAK FOR NDC AND WHEN I SPEAK FOR MYSELF AS A SOCIAL COMMENTATOR WAHALA COME WHY WHY WHY!!!!!” He posted on his Facebook page.

Replying to a friend, he added: “Abdul-Rahim Gariba I will never be in their good books my brother our politics has to change Truth should be our cardinal principles”.

Of Political Consultants and social commentators…

Allotey Jacobs is the only former NDC big man who has grown cold feet following his party’s 2016 defeat.

MyNewsGh.com months ago reported a former deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC and former director of communication at the Presidency who is now Executive Director of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyido as describing himself as a “consultant” open to all political parties when it comes to the politics of Ghana.

Koku who was known as the bull for charging at his political opponents became the chicken following NDC’s defeat and his arrest for treason.

“I’m a consultant for various political parties and I am working across all political divides and doing job for various political parties now. And so I won’t say anything that will affect my talk on Saturday. I told you I’m billed for a talk so I need to be mindful of that. I consult for many political parties now”. He told Starr Francis Abban.

The two figures are not loved in the NDC as they used to.
