Giving Birth Without Getting Married Makes Me Happy – Yvonne Nelson

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]hanaian actress Yvonne Nelson received a lot of criticism from some Ghanaians when she gave birth last year whilst not married but the actress believes it was the right thing to do.

In an interview with the BBC, the actress was asked what she thought of giving birth without getting married, being a public figure and a role model.

“I believe it’s the right thing to do.” Nelson answered.

The actress continued that whilst getting married before all that was ideal, it doesn’t mean what she did was wrong.

“To get married, have kids, raise a family is ideal but I believe society puts a lot of pressure on women, young women in Africa especially.” she said.

“At the end of the day if my mum, my family is happy with me, I am happy with myself, that’s it.”
