Another Funeral for Daddy Lumba Set for March in Accra

Plans are underway for a second memorial event honouring the late Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba in Accra this coming March 2026.

In a video shared widely on social media, Evangelist Papa Shee, speaking on behalf of the musician’s family, confirmed that the two-day “celebration of life” will take place from 28 to 29 March 2026. The gathering is expected to attract family members, close friends and fans of the legendary artist.

According to Papa Shee, Daddy Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, and other members of the family will be present at the event. While the precise venue has not yet been announced, he assured the public that further details will be shared in due course.

Describing the event as a time to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of Daddy Lumba, Papa Shee said the occasion is open to all members of the public who wish to pay their respects and honour the late musician’s contributions to Ghana’s music industry.

He also used the announcement to express gratitude to supporters of Akosua Serwaa, particularly those who welcomed her warmly upon her return to Ghana following periods of intense public scrutiny.

Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away in July 2025 at the age of 60. His death and subsequent funeral arrangements have drawn significant national attention and discussion in recent months.
