Akufo-Addo is responsible for the current woes of Ghanaians – NDC’s Brogya Genfi claims

Former Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Brogya Genfi wants President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo blamed for the current predicament of Ghanaians as far as the increasing cases of coronavirus is concerned.

Ghana as at April 3, 2020, recorded 205 confirmed cases of the deadly virus with the latest being a resident of the Upper East Region.

According to the Ghana Health Service, this particular case neither has travel history nor has come into contact with any patient but tested positive for the deadly virus

The Greater Accra Region has most cases (183) followed by the Northern Region (10), Ashanti Region (9), Upper West Region (1), Eastern Region (1) and Upper East Region (1) with the death toll at 5

But the former NDC executive disclosed that all these could have been averted especially in the case of the imported cases if the President had heeded to advise and shut the country’s borders as of March 1, 2020.

In his view, fewer resources would also have been allocated in quarantining travellers than the about $7million his government is currently expending.

President Akufo-Addo should be held responsible for all the pain we are going through as a country today.

The right time to have closed our borders was before 1st March 2020.

Unfortunately, he, with a large entourage was on a needless tour of Europe and other countries which had already confirmed positive cases.

Ghana would have spent less in the quarantine of travellers than the $7million his government is currently expending searching for these travellers and contact tracing…

His government must be ultimately held responsible for our predicaments. #StopTheSpread”, he said in a post sighted by MyNewsGh.com.
