Akufo Addo has signed out long ago, he is only enjoying the Presidency – Martin Kpebu claims

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has long signed out of his duties as President though he is still in office.

The scathing criticism from the legal practitioner was in response to pronouncements made by President Akufo Addo that he would not take action against persons engaged in illegal mining based on rumors.

At a meeting with the National House of Chiefs to seek their support and advice on the fight against galamsey, the president said he will not hastily punish his appointees accused of engaging or condoning illegal mining if sufficient evidence is not adduced.

But reacting to the claims on Newsfile on Joy FM, Martin Kpebu argued that such utterances by the President were in direct contravention of his own pledge to use the Anas Principle in fighting crime.

“The President has checked out long ago. He is just now walking and enjoying the Presidency. Very shameful. These things he is satiate very shameful. He is a lawyer and doesn’t deal with that. Is he not the same Nana Akufo Addo who said he will work with the Anas principle? And today there is even evidence and he says go give the tape and talk to the Minister to explain himself. You see how he has done a U-turn?” Martin Kpebu questioned.
